NEW SEEDLINGS AND GREENS BETWEEN RESIDENTIAL BLOCKS

World day of Forests - March 21, celebrated more than four decades in the whole world, according to the tradition was also celebrated in Palilula Municipality in Nis. Within the Programme of activities on the adaptation of greens between residential blocks and solving demands of the citizens in the settlements of this municipality, intensive activity on adaptation of alleys realized with Public Enterprise Gorica is taking place at the moment. Palilula Municipality is also the participant of the project of national campaign Green Serbian cities as well as world ecologic campaigns One Billion Trees for Planet Earth, Green paths of Europe, Stop to climate changes, Clean up the world, that are being realized with the organized of civil societies and EKOpolis net.

The aim of our activities, according to Boban Dzunic, president of Palilula Municipality, is spreading green and park surfaces in Palilula and Nis area. Our project activities in 2012-2013, beside increasing and forming of green park surfaces and adaptation of space among residential blocks in the settlements, specially are emphasized on the example of greening Memorial Park Bubanj, Delijski Vis, Old Cemetery `Gorica`. Beside seedlings and cleaning of spaces, in Nis city municipality of Palilula during this year very actively will be worked also on the realization of programme Living Green in the cooperation with volunteers and educational institutions, emphasized president Dzunic.

Organization UN for food and agriculture (FAO) in 1971 proclaimed March 21 for the World forest day thinking that in this way it will contribute to increasing of consciousness and beliefs of wide world public about the significance and importance of forests for the human. Preserving forests is of extreme importance and directly influences pollution reduction. Foresting of bigger surfaces is of special importance in urban areas where pollution is the highest levels. It is known that vegetation positively influences the climate, land as well as reduces the effects of exhaust gasses. On the basis of the implemented researches, in the last thirty years, number of green surfaces in Serbian cities has been reduced for one fifth, which contributed to damaging circumstances to life surrounding.
